About Major Heinz Bar:
One of the Luftwaffe’s most successful aces was Major Heinz Bär, with a tally of over 200 enemy aircraft. This impressive total was gained in the skies over both the Western and Eastern Fronts.

In April 1944 Bär was Gruppenkommandeur of II./JG 1 based at Stornede, and it was in this particular reserve aircraft that he achieved his 200th victory.
