The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress is a four-engine heavy bomber developed for the United States Army Air Corps in the 1930s. Relatively fast and high-flying for a bomber of its time, the B-17 saw service primarily in the European theater of war and dropped more bombs than any other aircraft during World War II.
