A masterpiece of British engineering, the Hawker Hurricane Mk IIb was more than just a fighter aircraft.
Built by Hawker Aircraft and equipped with a powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, it could reach speeds of up to 370 mph (607 km/h).
Its armament varied depending on the mission, from machine guns to cannons and bombs.
This made it a flexible weapon for the Royal Air Force (RAF) throughout the war.
Despite massive production of over 14,000 units, its importance was often overshadowed by the more famous Spitfire. Yet in the hands of its brave pilots, the Hurricane played a key role in defending British skies during the "Battle of Britain".
