The Yakovlev Yak-9 was a single-engine, single-seat multirole fighter aircraft used by the Soviet Union and its allies during World War II and the beginning of the Cold War.
The YAK 9T version differs primarily in the heavy NS-37 cannon.
The large caliber made it possible to both destroy ground targets and shoot down enemy aircraft in a single hit.
The 9T had a combat load of 30 37 mm caliber shells and 200 rounds for the 12.7 mm machine gun. Series production of the 9T began in March 1943 and ended in 1945 with a total of 2,748 aircraft built.
