This World War II fighter aircraft was a daring design with two fuselages, each with a piston engine, and a central nacelle that housed the cockpit and armament (machine guns and cannons in the nose).
The P-38 was used for interceptors, dive bombers, area bombing, ground attacks, night combat, photo reconnaissance, radar and visual pathfinding for bombers and evacuation missions, as well as extensively as a long-range escort fighter when equipped with underwing drop tanks.
