Lockheed F-104G Starfighter

As  consequence of the operations during the Korean War, the light air superiority fighter F-104 Starfighter was developed at Lockheed for the USAF.
It was optimized for high speeds and climbing ability.
The first flight of this type of aircraft was on March 4th, 1954.
In 1958 an F-104A reached 2259.538 km / h and set a speed record.
