The Tachikawa Ki-54 "Hickory" was a Japanese WW2 twin-engined aircraft produced in four main versions.
These were used for pilot training, radio operator and navigator training, gunner training and finally there was the version used for transport and submarine patrols.
The decal sheet contains markings for the Ki-54 Hei / Hickory No.5541, which had to make an emergency landing on Lake Towada on 27.09.1943. The aircraft was found on 05.09.2012 and fished out of the lake and put on display at the Misawa Museum. One airframe that can boast of its interesting past is the 10th Dokiuritsu Hikodan Shireibu aircraft, which flew Lieutenant General Masao Baba's surrender delegation to Borneo. For this particular option, the decal sheet also has the green surrender crosses.
