The Heinkel He-111 medium bomber formed the backbone of the Luftwaffe's bomber squadrons in the early stages of World War II.
It was characterized, like many other aircraft with similar characteristics of the time, by the introduction of two engines, but also by the introduction of innovative solutions such as an all-metal frame.
Thanks to its two Jumo 211 engines, it reached a top speed of 440 km/h and could load up to 2000 kg of bombs in its bomb bay.
Easily recognizable due to its distinctive fully glazed nose, wing and rudder profiles, the He-111 was widely used by the Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain in 1940.
