One of the finest combat aircraft in military history, the Messerschmitt Bf 109 was continually developed throughout World War II, with the "Gustav" being the last major and most widely produced variant.
Flown by many of the Luftwaffe's most capable aces, the 109G was adapted for a variety of operational roles. It was often used against the USAAF's massive daytime bombing raids targeting targets deep in Europe.
