The Italian Air Force's 313th Gruppo Addestramento Acrobatico, better known as Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale “Frecce Tricolori,” is based at Rivolto Airport in northern Italy.
The 313th Squadron was officially established in 1961 as a very professional and high-profile aerobatic unit with the aim of representing the Italian Air Force around the world.
At the beginning the team was equipped with the Canadair CL-13 "Sabre" and after a few years it was replaced by the Fiat G91.
Today the "Frecce Tricolori" flies the two-seat fighter trainer Aermacchi MB 339 A and is the largest team with more than 10 aircraft.
In 2021 the PAN celebrated its 60th anniversary.
For this purpose, the "339" were painted with special paintwork, which is reminiscent of the legendary Stormi teams of the 1950s.
