The first two versions of the Meteor entered service with the RAF in time to see action in the final stages of the war.
Development of the type continued after the war, with the first post-war version being the Mk.4.
Next, more advanced F.8 fighter and FR.9 fighter/reconnaissance types were both operated by the RAF and exported to foreign forces.
In addition to several European air forces, these also flew in Australia as well as with some Middle Eastern countries that happened to be at war with each other.
The Meteors became the first jets of the Israeli Air Force, but they were also used along with Vampire jets in Egypt and Syria.
It was one of the FR.9 fighter reconnaissance aircraft that scored the IAF's very first "jet kill".
And it is this very aircraft that is included in the kit's marking options, it is also shown in the box art.
