Based on the third prototype, "777 Green," the latest multi-role fighter, the Mig-29SMT (Izdeliye 9.19), entered service with the Russian Air Force in February 2009.
Equipped with the latest fire control system, the Mig-29SMT can be armed with most of the Air Force's weapons and the largest "fatback" in the family.
The semi-retractable IFR probe gives the fighter a longer range.
The modernization increases the Mig-29's combat potential (especially in air-to-ground mode) by 2.5 times.
