Douglas A-20B / C Boston III

The twin-engine Douglas A-20 was developed by the American aviation company to fulfil two main roles. Its fuselage, with its distinctive medium-high cantilever wing, could be configured as a night fighter and attack aircraft with a powerful weapon system in the forward fuselage, or as a light bomber. The light bomber version achieved significant success not only with the USAAF, but also with the British RAF, which called the aircraft "Boston".
The Boston's fuselage nose was glazed to accommodate the bombardier, but retained the then-innovative nosewheel undercarriage.

Capable of carrying a payload of up to 1800 kg, it was produced in large numbers and used by the RAF, numerous Commonwealth air forces and some units of the Soviet Air Force.
