Lockheed P-38F Lightning "Glacier Girl"

This World War II fighter aircraft was a daring design with two fuselages, each with a piston engine, and a central nacelle that housed the cockpit and armament (machine guns and cannons in the nose).
Introduced in June 1941, the aircraft saw extensive service in the Pacific during World War II.
The F variant was produced from April 1942 and was equipped with pylons for 150-gallon drop tanks to enable longer bombing missions.
“Glacier Girl” is a World War II P-38 that sat on a glacier in Greenland for nearly 60 years, buried under hundreds of feet of snow and ice.
