The British Aerospace Sea Harrier was a naval combat aircraft with short takeoff and vertical takeoff/landing capabilities.
It first entered service with the Royal Navy in April 1980.
In 1993, an improved version was produced for the Royal Navy as the Sea Harrier FA2, which improved its air-to-air capabilities and weapons compatibility and featured a more powerful engine.
The aircraft was retired early by the Royal Navy in 2006.
