The McDonnell Douglas F-15E Strike Eagle is an American all-weather multi-role fighter aircraft derived from the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle. The F-15E was developed in the 1980s for long-range and high-speed patrols without relying on escort aircraft or electronic warfare aircraft.
The Israeli version of the Strike Eagle, the F-15,I is used by the No. 69 Squadron of the Israeli Air Force and is the successor to the F-4 Phantom II.
Due to its long range, high ammunition capacity and advanced systems, it is used in a similar way to a strategic bomber.
