The eight-seater aircraft with a cabin for two pilots was powered by two air-cooled inline six-cylinder Renault Bengal Six engines, each with an output of 132 kW.
This was followed by three examples of the C.441 with more powerful Renault 6Q-01 engines, each with 162 kW, which were also installed in the subsequent civilian version of the C.444.
The C.445 prototype, which was also flown in 1936 with 6Q engines, had a wing with an increased lift of 1°. A long-distance racing machine modified from the C.445 was given the designation C.445R.
The C.448 variant was again equipped with more powerful 6Q-02 and 6Q-03 engines, each with 176 kW, and its take-off weight increased from 3500 kg to 3700 kg.
