The aircraft was fitted with a more powerful engine to increase speed and altitude.
Some aircraft were also fitted with increased firepower to combat large Allied bombers.
By the end of 1943, the BF-109 G was the backbone of the Luftwaffe and was used in all theaters of operations, successfully keeping up with the Allied air force until the end of the conflict.
The aircraft, with the serial number 14003, was tested with a so-called butterfly or V-tail, which was intended to achieve reduced air resistance.
