The Messerschmitt Bf 110 was a twin-engine heavy fighter that was faster and more heavily armed than any other combat aircraft in the skies at the time and certainly during the early months of WWII and proved devastatingly effective.
Although the Bf 110 suffered at the hands of the RAF during the Battle of Britain, it would go on to prove itself in action as a long-range fighter-bomber and ground support aircraft over the vast expanses of Russia as well as in the Mediterranean and North Africa.
