The Me262 was the first and only fully operational jet fighter aircraft developed during World War II.
Due to the special flight characteristics of a jet aircraft compared to a propeller aircraft, a two-seat conversion was necessary for training.
This conversion was designated Me262B-1a and was equipped with a second seat for the instructor as well as full dual controls and two external fuel tanks.
