It was powered by a Hispano Suiza HS 12Ygrs engine, the next prototype in 1937 had an HS 12Ycrs engine.
The first production aircraft were not built until early 1939.
Production was fairly rapid, and on September 1, 1939 the French Army had 572 aircraft of this type, which were manufactured under license in Switzerland and Czechoslovakia (Avia) due to the lack of French Hispano Suiza HS engines.
The aircraft showed some defects during their service, in particular the low ammunition supply and problems with engine cooling. It was therefore decided to modernize them, and the machines were given the designation MS.410.
However, their production ended due to the capitulation of France.
