The Twin Otter flew for the first time in May 1965.
Production of the 100 series began in 1966 and 115 machines were built until it was replaced by the 200 series with an extended fuselage tip.
It has excellent STOL properties and is used both civilly and militarily. The machines received PT6A engines with 652 hp, payload: 2.6 t.
