Designed and developed by British manufacturer Hawker Siddeley in the 1960s, it took an active part in military operations during the Falklands War in 1982.
The Harrier Gr. 3 was distinguished by the introduction of new features such as the nose-mounted laser tracker and integrated electronic countermeasures systems and proved very effective in close support and ground attack missions for the British Royal Air Force.
Armed with two 30 mm cannons installed under the hull, it was capable of carrying a significant load of offensive weapons, consisting of missiles, conventional bombs and laser-guided bombs.
Thanks to the possibility of installing two drop tanks under the wings, the operational range could be increased.
