GREAT WALL HOBBY
1:144
Built to meet the Air Ministry's extremely demanding requirements for a fast, high-flying strategic bomber capable of carrying a nuclear device, the Vulcan represented a 100% improvement in performance over any British bomber aircraft to date.
When the Vulcan made its maiden flight in August 1952, the Avro team was well on its way to presenting the Royal Air Force with not only the world's first delta bomber, but also one of the world's most effective attack bombers. When the Vulcan entered service with No. 83 Squadron at RAF Waddington in July 1957, Britain now had the world's fastest nuclear-capable bomber.
Nine B.2s were converted to the maritime radar reconnaissance role and six were converted to tanker aircraft.
