The Yakovlev Yak-11 is based on the Soviet Yak-3 fighter aircraft, which was launched on November 10, 1945 with the AŠ-82FN radial engine.
This aircraft, however, did not go into production, but was further modernized and a new aircraft was created, which was tested in the spring of 1946.
It was built in the Soviet Union between 1947 and 1956 with a total of 3859 units.
In 1953, the Soviet Union sold the license to Czechoslovakia and the aircraft was manufactured at the Let Kunovice plant under the designation LET C-11.
