The US Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Control Center is responsible for identifying and eliminating unexploded ordnance, chemical weapons and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
EOD specialists wear the EOD 9 bomb suit made by Canadian company Med-Eng for their duties.
The bomb suit offers a high level of protection by using brand new protective materials and modular configuration.
The TALON military robot was designed and built by US company Foster-Miller Inc., and the iRobot 510 PackBot military robot was built by US company iRobot Corporation.
These robots are mainly used to assist soldiers in dangerous tasks such as reconnaissance and disposal of roadside bombs and IEDs.
A large number of them are in service with US troops.
