When the MBB Bo 105 first flew in 1967, it marked the beginning of a German success story. This model brought a maneuverable and technically highly innovative helicopter to market, with over 1,400 units built over the next decades and operated with great success by countless users. The police, military, rescue services, and civil defense and disaster relief agencies were the primary users of this fast and agile helicopter. Due to its rotor design, the Bo 105 remains the only helicopter in the world certified for aerobatics. Numerous successors emerged from this successful model – for example, the BK 117 and the H145/M from Airbus Helicopters.
