German-British Pioneer Bridge Battalion 130
On September 30, 2021, the ceremonial reorganization roll call of the Armored Engineer Battalion 130, the British 23 Amphibious Engineer Squadron and the 3rd, 4th and 5th Companies of the Heavy Engineer Battalion 901 took place in bright sunshine.
The German-British Pioneer Bridge Battalion 130 was created.
The main weapon systems of the unit are the folding floating bridge (FSB 2), which is used by heavy protected wheeled and tracked vehicles as well as light tactical vehicles to cross water, either as a floating bridge or as a multiple ferry; and the Amphibious M3 floating rapid bridge (SSB), which was developed from the consistent further development of the concept of the M2 Alligator bridge and transfer vehicle. The combination of the combined properties of a land and water vehicle is the essential performance feature here.
This publication describes in detail the history of the PiBrBtl 130 and shows for the first time all of the unit's vehicles in impressive maneuver photos.
