Why he became a Resin specialist
Even as a child, Michael Baldeweg was interested in model building and, together with his father, completed his first model: the Calypso (research ship of Jacques-Yves Cousteau) from Revell. Many different models were then assembled and lovingly painted by him.
Since the subject did not let him go, remote-controlled vehicles were also added at the age of 11, the first being the Scorpion from Graupner (buggy), with which he became runner-up in team parcour driving at the German championships in 1991.
Later, he was noticed for his impressive airbrush painting of Lexan car bodies. He also won various prizes with this, for example in Sonneberg at the TAMIYA-CUP.
He then returned to plastic modeling, but in order to meet his own demands, the step to Resin modeling was inevitable. Little by little, he has meticulously familiarized himself with all the work steps and today this man is a specialist in this field with CUSTOM SCALE.
Already more than 130 models released
Michael Baldeweg runs a genuine manufactory in his basement: of course, machines are also used here, but most of the work is done by himself in laborious manual work, from casting and trimming to packaging.
In order to be able to run his rather cost-intensive model building company, Michael has a part-time job on the construction site. It is important for him to be able to invest in new projects again and again and also to constantly expand the store.
In the meantime, about 130 CUSTOM-SCALE kits made of Resin have been produced, which can always be reproduced by him; under the new branch 16.02, there are now 4 kits made of plastic.
Unfortunately, Michael Baldeweg has not been able to build anything himself in recent years, as his free time is understandably very limited.
