The first set in the Alpine Miniatures Collection contains a 1/35 figure depicting a Private from the 29th Infantry Division, equipped with the usual gear for the late European campaigns of World War II. The miniature was sculpted exclusively for Vallejo by Teasung Harmms.
The 29th Infantry Division took an active part in the D-Day landings at Omaha Beach in June 1944, the attack on Brest in September 1944 and the invasion of Germany in 1945.
- Two base colors for painting US jackets, spats, webbing and equipment in olive green.
- Basic color for "mustard yellow" wool trousers.
- Olive color for painting helmets and green olive gear.
- Two different colors to shade any base tones.
- Two different colors to highlight any base tones.
By mixing different base colors with different shades and glosses, we can get a wide range of shades of Olive Drab, needed for painting US Army uniforms and field equipment in the final years of WWII.
Do I need previous knowledge for Model Color?
The Vallejo Model Color must be applied over a proper primer. The Vallejo spray cans are also suitable for this, for example, to simply prime the miniatures
