HMS Warspite was a Royal Navy battleship commissioned in 1915 and saw action in both World War I and World War II. She belonged to the Queen Elizabeth class alongside the Queen Elizabeth, the Barham, the Valiant and the Malaya.
These were the world's first fast battleships, combining the advantages of the battlecruiser with those of the battleship in a new ship type.
She became known as the "Grand Old Lady", quoted by Admiral Cunningham.
