Maya was a Takao-class heavy cruiser of the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. The ship was named after Mount Maya, part of the Rokko Mountains near Kobe. Unlike her sister ships, the Maya was converted into an anti-aircraft cruiser over the course of her service.
