USS Vincennes was commissioned on July 6, 1985.
The ship is equipped with guided missiles, rapid-fire close-range weapons, electronic jammers, and two Seahawk helicopters for anti-submarine and anti-ship warfare, personnel transport, and other purposes.
Her mission was to operate with aircraft carrier battle groups.
The ship was designed to detect, classify, and track hundreds of potential targets simultaneously. Vincennes was decommissioned on June 29, 2005, in San Diego.
She was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Medal, Sea Service Ribbon with four stars, etc.
