Speedboat S-26 / S-38
Between the two wars, numerous naval forces undertook a program to develop torpedo boat flotillas capable of both patrol and attack missions. The new engine technologies ensured better performance and greater operational efficiency compared to the First World War. In the 1930s, the German Navy developed the famous S-class torpedo motorboats. The S-26 series was built from 1939 to 1940, which can be recognized by an integrated foredeck with two 533 mm torpedo tubes. The aesthetic solution of the arch is retained and improved for later versions. One of the most famous speedboats is the S-38 version. The almost 100 examples produced were 35 meters long and had a displacement of over 100 tons when fully loaded. Thanks to its 12-cylinder Daimler-Benz engines, it was able to reach top speed of 36.5 knots (approx. 67.6 km/h)
