Antarctica Observation Ship "SOYA" 1/250

The Soya, originally named Volochaevets, was launched at the Kawaminami shipyard in 1938.
She was commissioned by the Soviets but never delivered.
Instead, she was completed as an ice-breaking freighter and was transferred to the IJN in 1940, where she received her new name.
After World War II, the Soya was converted for use as an Antarctic research vessel.
