The "Landing craft, tank" (or tank landing craft) was an amphibious assault vehicle for landing tanks on invasion beaches.
It was developed by the British Royal Navy during World War II and later used by the United States Navy.
Known by the British as the "Tank Landing Craft" (TLC), it later became known by the US designation "Landing Craft, Tank" (LCT).
After the war, the LCT continued to be produced in the USA and was used in the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
