
The BMP-3 is the newest Russian infantry fighting vehicle.
It is the successor to the BMP-1 and BMP-2.
Production began in 1986 in the Soviet Union and it was used in the Red Army from 1987.
It can transport up to ten soldiers, a crew of three and up to 7 infantrymen.
The armament consists of a 100 mm cannon, a 30 mm machine gun, an AGS-30 grenade launcher and three 7.62 machine guns.
In addition to Russia, it is also used in South Korea, Venezuela, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.
