The F-4EJ Kai ("kai" means modified) is the modernized version of the F-4EJ adopted from the USAF's F-4E for the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force. The F-4EJ had the ground attack and aerial refueling capabilities of the F-4E removed and a data link added to allow the machine to be used as an interceptor. The "Kai" variant was further modified to improve and modernize the F-4EJ. Changes mainly affected the avionics, including modernization of the radar and FCS (fire control system). In the nose area alone, the visible external differences from the F-4EJ included the additional flash stripes on the nose dome, the long flash hider at the top of the fairing for the Vulcan cannon, the modified antenna for VHF/UHF transmission on the landing gear door, and more.

This new kit and it is fantastic! Level of details is very high. In this kit you have decals for plain grey paining of 302 Squadron Phantom. It is for those who like color modulation and variation. But you can get aftermarket decals or masks to paint some Anniversary versions. \nAnyhow this kit is absolutely gorgeous and I highly recommend to get it
