Stalingrad Siege 1942 Battle Set

The Battle of Stalingrad was a turning point in World War II and one of the most famous battles in military history. The battle began in the summer of 1942 and pitted the Soviet Red Army against the German Wehrmacht for control of the Volga and Don regions.
Military operations focused on the symbolic city of Stalingrad, which was destroyed by heavy German bombing.
The ruins of the city became the scene of brutal and bitter hand-to-hand combat.
One of the main German objectives was to control the industrial area, including the huge tractor factory, which was converted to produce T-34 tanks during the war and destroyed by bombers and artillery fire.
In November 1942, the Soviets launched the major flanking maneuver to encircle the Wehrmacht troops in Stalingrad, which ended with the surrender of the German troops in the first months of 1943.
The Red Army's victory was the starting point for the Soviet offensive that brought them to Berlin in 1945.
