In the 80s, Audi's chosen Italian name (Quattro is the Italian word for "four") was produced, emphasizing its main feature and selling point: all-wheel drive.
It was the first time that this was used on a coupé, with the aim of achieving high production and sales figures on the market.
Thanks to its front-mounted longitudinal engine, the Audi Quattro was able to offer good performance and very good reliability in all road conditions.
From mass production, a special competition car was developed in 1981, which debuted in the World Rally Championship and achieved good results.
The success of the “Quattro” cars continues to this day, the name has become a real “brand” that characterizes the entire range of Audi all-wheel drive production.
