Introduced in 1947, the 4 CV was one of those small family cars that the French had been waiting for after the war. Renault highlighted its acceleration and its top speed: 90 km/h! Its performance, brakes, road holding, comfort and affordable price made it very popular. From 1955 it was used by the Paris police as an official car, and because of its colors it was nicknamed "Voiture Pie".
