The prototypes were launched in 1940 and production began in early 1941.
Its peculiarity was that the sidecar wheel was driven by an axle that was connected to the rear wheel of the motorcycle.
These featured a limited-slip differential and selectable gear ratios to optimize on- and off-road performance.
The two-cylinder engine with a displacement of 750 cm³ produced 26 hp. The BMW R75 could reach a top speed of 95 km/h.
