The production of anti-tank 76-mm ZiS-3 guns began in December 1941, they appeared in the troops in 1942. In 1943, this gun became the main gun in the divisional cannon artillery. In total, a little less than fifty thousand guns were built during the war years. In terms of simplicity, low weight and high combat qualities, it was one of the best guns of the Second World War. In the postwar period, the ZiS-3 was in service with the Soviet Army for a long time, and was also actively exported to a number of countries.
