The 3-inch gun M5 was an anti-tank gun developed in the United States during World War II.
It combined the 3-inch barrel (76.2mm) of the T9 anti-aircraft gun and elements of the 105mm M2 howitzer.
Beginning in 1943, the M5 was issued exclusively to US Army tank destroyer battalions.
It was used in the Italian theater of war and on the western front.
