The M3 was an American half-track infantry fighting vehicle that was in widespread use with the Allies during World War II and into the Cold War.
Developed from the M2 half-track, the M3 was mass-produced, with around 15,000 armored personnel carriers and more than 38,000 variants being made.
The following versions can be built from the kit:
- M3 - Fitted with either an M32 anti-aircraft machine gun mount or a pedestal mount, both with an M2HB machine gun
- M3A2 - this version was designed in 1943 to convert the existing M2 and M3 production to a common vehicle. Only build as a prototype.
- M3A1 - An M3 with the improved M49 machine gun ring mount above the right front seat
