The Sd.Kfz. 251 (Sonderkraftfahrzeug 251) was a German World War II half-track armored personnel carrier developed by the Hanomag company based on the unarmored Sd.Kfz. 11 half-track vehicle was developed.
The vehicle was designed to transport Panzergrenadiers into battle.
With at least 15,252 vehicles and variants produced by seven manufacturers, the Sd.Kfz. 251 the most produced German halftracks of the war.
The Sd.Kfz.251/1 II was a rocket launcher (nicknamed the "Stuka on Foot" or Wurfrahmen 40) equipped with six side-mounted frames for launching 28cm or 32cm projectiles.
