One of the results was the heavy Wehrmacht tractor, or SWS for short. In contrast to the half-track vehicles used up to that time, this was a simplified towing vehicle and could thus be better incorporated into mass production.
The first vehicles were produced by Tatra and Büssing-NAG from autumn 1943.
The basic version was the flatbed vehicle, there was an armoured and an unarmoured version.
Furthermore versions with the 3,7cm Flak 43/1 and with the 15cm Panzerwerfer 42 were produced in series.
