The Sd.Kfz. 251 (Sonderkraftfahrzeug 251) was a German half-track armored infantry fighting vehicle of World War II, developed by the Hanomag company based on the unarmored Sd.Kfz. 11 half-track vehicle.
The vehicle was designed to transport the Panzergrenadiers into battle.
With at least 15,252 vehicles and variants produced by seven manufacturers, the Sd.Kfz. 251 became the most widely produced German half-track vehicles of the war.
