The three-man crew had a cal. 50 M2 MG at their disposal. This could be operated from the inside of the A1 even with the hatch closed. An M60 MG could be operated from the outside from the second roof hatch.
The M114 seemed ideal for use in Vietnam, but since it could hardly cope with difficult terrain and was mechanically unreliable, it was withdrawn from Vietnam in late 1964, but still served with the U.S. until 1979. Troops in Korea, USA and Europe.
