The T-34 was a Soviet-made medium tank. It was built from 1940 to 1958 and used by the Red Army mainly in the German-Soviet War.
Machine-building plant No. 183 was relocated from the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv to Nizhny Tagil in the Urals. After a merger with the Uralvagonzavod plant, the Ural Tank Factory No. 183 was created there.
